My father was killed on Martin Luther King's real birthday.  My brother excused himself by saying, "Dad's not useful to us anymore" He said he wanted the nurse to collapse his lungs to make him die faster! My siblings were entertained by it all! None of them cared about the reality! 

Some were even angry at me because "You got to watch Dad die; I didn't"
